Accessibility
Last updated August 2026
This is a one-person business. I do not have an accessibility department and I am not going to pretend otherwise. What I can tell you is what I have actually done, what I know is imperfect, and how to reach me if something on this site does not work for you.
What I am aiming at
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.1, at level AA. That is the standard courts and regulators point at, and it is the one worth building towards. I have not had this site audited by a third party, so I am telling you what I aim at rather than claiming a certificate I do not hold.
What is actually in place
- Every page works with the keyboard alone. You should be able to reach and use every link, field and button without a mouse.
- Text and background colours are chosen for contrast, and the type is set larger than most sites use because bills are hard enough to read already.
- The pages use real headings in order, so a screen reader can move through a page by section instead of reading everything from the top.
- Forms have labels attached to their fields, not placeholder text pretending to be labels.
- Nothing flashes, auto-plays or moves on its own.
- The site works at any zoom level and on a phone. If you enlarge the text, the layout follows rather than breaking.
Where I know it is imperfect
Two honest ones.
- The bill reader shows a lot of numbers in tables. Tables are harder to follow with a screen reader than plain sentences, and I have not solved that completely.
- Some pages carry images. Where an image is decoration it is marked as such; where it carries meaning it has a description. I check this by hand, which means I will sometimes miss one.
If something does not work for you
Email support@billreliefcheck.com and tell me what page you were on and what happened. You will get a person, not a ticket number. I aim to answer within two business days and to fix anything I can fix.
And if the site itself is the obstacle, that does not have to stop you using the service. Email me your bill and I will read it and reply the same way I would if you had used the form. The website is one route in, not the only one.

Changes
When I fix something on this list, or find something new to add to it, I update this page and change the date at the top.
